**Review of Loews Hotel**Loews Hotel is decent overall. The luxury King room on the second-to-top floor was spacious and offered an excellent view of the city. The staff was friendly and welcoming.### What I didn’t like:The biggest disappointment—and the reason for my low rating—was the food. First, I had booked two rooms and requested a couple of bottles of water, as there were none in the room. Turns out, they cost $9 each, which I find absolutely ridiculous and an outrageous level of penny-pinching.We arrived late, and while the hotel's website stated that the restaurant was open until midnight, it actually closed at 11 PM. That left us with just 20 minutes to order room service. What we received was a tiny, overcooked cheeseburger and an absurdly small portion of salmon with terrible rice. Of course, we only discovered this once the food had arrived in our room.At check-in and again in the morning, we inquired about breakfast. The receptionist mentioned a buffet for $26 per person as well as a small restaurant. However, when we asked about the buffet, we were told that, for some reason, it wasn’t available. We then went to the restaurant, where the service was just awful. I ordered an Americano with milk, and after a 20-minute wait, the waitress informed me that they didn’t have espresso to make the coffee. Everything was like that—missing items, long waits, and general disorganization. And let me emphasize one more time—$9 for a basic bottle of water? That’s a personal record for me.
The hotel was clean, large rooms, comfortable beds and has a friendly staff. My only issue was the car noise from the road next to the hotel was extremely loud. Not just regular traffic; cars were revving their cars all night on the street. Our only purpose in staying here was to sleep and we only got a few hours of sleep.
I recently stayed at the Loews New Orleans and everything about my stay was magnificent. The staff was warm and welcoming. I had a wonderful view of the city from my room. I received great restaurant recommendations from the staff. Since this was a work trip, we were in the hotel for most of the day.THE FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE. After enjoying breakfast and lunch, mini desserts and snacks, we really didn't need to leave the hotel for food.
They definitely try to take advantage of tourists at this hotel. A room with the water view for three people is $945, while a city view room for three people is $860. The water view is more so a view of other hotels, the casino, and a GLIMPSE of the water. Why charge all that extra money for a “water view”? The Loews hotel also loved adding random charges to your debit/credit card. They kept adding random charges of $225 and $560 to my friend’s debit card. This was my first time in New Orleans and next time I come, I definitely will not be back to this hotel. Other than that, the hotel is beautiful inside. The staff lied to us about breakfast being included in what we paid for, but then she came back and said that breakfast is $22 per person. This hotel would be much better if the staff were honest about all the costs, instead of saying one thing one day, then saying something else another day. Not really worth all the extra charges in my opinion, but it’s a nice looking hotel with nice rooms.
The location was perfect. Everything was between a 5 to 15 minute walking distance depending where you are headed. The rooms are nice and clean. I love they had an indoor pool and jacuzzi because it was just too hot to hang outside. The pool and jacuzzi are well maintained. The gym was very nice and maintained. We only had breakfast at this hotel. The food was petty good. Great hotel desk staff customer service. I gave it 4 stars because of the price I feel they can stand to offer more in amenities. The amenities they did have did not work aside from the ATM. Both computers and printers were down in the business center. The spa is no longer offered, and the waitress in the restaurant could provide better service. A group dined and dashed because she kept disappearing and took forever to wait on people. She became more attentive after the large group skipped out on their bill.
A beautiful hotel within walking distance to the French Quarter. Valet parking in a secure deck available for a fair fee. Our check-in was very pleasant - the woman that checked us in was very friendly and welcoming and gave us an overview of the amenities. The room itself was large and quite comfortable. Room was very clean and quiet. We had a nice view of the Mississippi River from our window. Pets allowed for a fee. Overall we had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed the plush room and friendly staff!
My husband and I have stayed at the Nopsi for the past few years during the 4th of July weekend to attend the Essence Festival. With the exception of our first stay, we have always rented a suite. However, the past two years we noticed a decline in the food service, the bar areas, and especially the room. Our stay in the suite in July of 2024 was the absolute worst. Not only was there no microwave, no refrigerator, the door handle came off of the door, and the television didn't work, the towels were also damp. We complained to several employees but nothing ever materialized. However, the reason I am writing this review, is because today I received messages that someone from the NOPSI restaurant in the food and beverage industry has been charging little portions to my credit card. After calling the hotel and speaking with the front desk, I was transferred to the manager of the restaurant, Ted Anderson, of whom I left a voice message. I have not received a response from Mr Anderson so I called again. The only way I was able to speak with another person at the NOPSI, was to pretend I wanted to make a new reservation. When I spoke with a reservationist, I asked to speak with the General Manager, Joshua, and when I was transferred to his office, and explained what my issue is, I was told he said he doesn't handle these kind of issues. My husband and I have spent thousands of dollars at that hotel, and to be treated like this is unprofessional and unacceptable. We will never return to this hotel, and we will also inform our friends to not patronize this establishment ever again.
We were able to check in early, which was amazing after an early morning flight. Beautiful, clean, well maintained hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Easy walk to the French quarter. Rooms have high ceilings, large windows and very comfy beds. We would stay here again.
10/10 highly recommended! amazing experience!!! Clean facilities, excellent customer care, friendly staff, comfortable bed, and great bar and food service. The bell hop gentleman was my favorite employee !! He was so kind and caring ! He helps with our bags from the car and anything we needed !
This hotel was great! No car needed in walking distance to everything. Only thing I can say that was not good was the restaurant, food was high priced and seem to be already frozen entrees just warmed in a microwave. It's too many places to eat right near the restaurant so don't waste your money or time at the one in the hotel. Other than that, this place is truly a hidden gem!!
Nice location (Business District) walking distance to pretty much everything. I guess we got a basic room which is the worst basic room I have had in quite a while, room is very small, carpet needs cleaning and room has a odor, King bed with a whole lot of pillows, small fridge, personal safe, couple small chairs. Nice size bathroom, friendly staff for the most part, housekeeping is bad.Nice amenities, but isn't what I expected only from the room aspect!I will try to make the best of it as I have a couple days left on my stay.Chuck
Great HotelStayed for one night in September 23 whilst visiting NOLA.Great Hotel with friendly staff, excellent gin bar and room facilities were good. The rooftop bar and pool was a real bonus.Only negative the room we had looked out onto a wall with no view at all. If we knew this beforehand we would have upgraded.Despite this the room was really enjoyable.
Beautiful, clean hotel at a great location. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We had a great 35th anniversary celebration/getaway here. Thanks to Concierge Shawn and Kevin for recommending and booking a couple of the tours, Tara the great bartender at the Gun bar, who we had lots of good laughs with. Excellent tasty food at the lobby bar. And what would we have done without Kevin in the lobby! Thank you all for making our stay so memorable!
One of the best hotel experiences. The hotel is updated and everything feels 5star. Just as important is the fact that the staff is above and beyond friendly. So many hellos, every request is honored and there is just a positive vibe everywhere. I was working in the evening and asked for coffee from the bartender, Chelsea Chiasson - who was so delightful to speak with. She not only made the coffee, but went out of her way to make sure that I was welcome. Cant say enough about this place. Gym and rooftop are A+. Highly recommended!
NOPSI is classy and modern looking despite being an old classic in New Orleans. We are greeted pleasantly and appreciate the early booking as the room was available for us without extra charges. It was a big event/conference happening and are surprised that they can take the load. The pool was small but it is a pool. The mattresses are comfy but the mini-fridge is a cooler as they mentioned because it had cooling issues and we had issues with the door. We are also disappointed that the GO-Green option was not offered despite the sign in the room. Go-Green bypasses the daily housekeeping service to reduce the towels cleaning etc.We appreciate the concierge named Andrew as he suggested a restaurant for dinner. As for the rest of the staff and they are friendly as well.
